Online Courses
Enrolment has just closed for the two NCTE online courses on Developing
e-Learning in your School. However, due to the high level of interest expressed, NCTE plans to offer them again early in the new year. Enrolment is expected to open before Christmas so please keep an eye on the NCTE website for details.

Scoilnet Webhosting & Blogging Service
The Scoilnet blogging service allows schools to easily develop a school website or school blog and host it for free under the schools broadband programme. There is now also a feed of recently updated Scoilnet Websites and Blogs available.

NCTE: Webwise - Internet Safety
Get your school ready for Safer Internet Day
Register your school for free and get ready to be involved in Safer Internet Day 2012. Safer Internet Day (SID) is 7th February 2012 and you can register your school on the SID website
. Registered schools will receive a SID kit in January 2012 including information about SID, promotional materials, suggested learning and awareness activities, and eSafety resources.
The SID logo (jpeg / high res zip) is available for download here.
NCTE: FÍS Film Festival
The FÍS Film Festival 2011 took place on the 16th November 2011. Twenty four school finalists
were invited to the event in the Helix in Dublin. Further details of the festival will soon appear on the NCTE website. Also check out www.fisfestival.com for resources and ideas about film-making. You should also consider contacting your education centre to see if there is a course you could attend.

NCTE has developed and updated a series of ICT advice sheets. These cover a wide range of areas relevant to ICT in education. They are especially helpful for schools and teachers.

The annual conference of the Computers in Education Society of Ireland will take place in Portlaoise on February 24th and 25th, 2012. The theme for this year's conference is TEACHnology: merging teaching and technology in schools. The call for proposals for the conference is now open.
